Nubia Z40 series of flagship phones are expected to launch soon in China. The lineup may include Z40 and Z40 Pro. While the details of the vanilla model are not known yet, the Pro variant is expected to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Today, the company confirmed that the Z40 Pro will be equipped with magnetic wireless charging technology.

Apple has been offering MagSafe magnetic wireless charging tech since the release of the iPhone 12 series in 2020. Last year, Realme became the first Android brand to introduce magnetic wireless tech by announcing the Realme Flash concept phone. However, the company is yet to make it available to the general public.

Hence, it appears that the Nubia Z40 Pro will debut as the world’s first Android smartphone with magnetic wireless charging support. While Realme Flash offered 50W wireless charging, there is no word on the charging capabilities of the Z40 Pro’s magnetic wireless charging tech.

Recent reports have revealed that the Nubia Z40 Pro will be the first smartphone to house the Sony IMX787 camera sensor. It is expected to deliver a 35mm focal length and an f/1.6 aperture. The handset was recently spotted at the Geekbench 5 benchmarking platform with a single-core score of 1228 and a multi-core score of 3379.

The Geekbench listing of the Nubia Z40 Pro revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered device will be accompanied by 16 GB of RAM, and it will run on Android 12 OS. In addition, the device will be equipped with an aerospace-grade heat dissipation unit. Nubia is expected to soon confirm the launch date of the Z40 series.
