Xiaomi in December last year unveiled three flagship mobile phones, namely, the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and 12X, leaving a fourth ‘Ultra’ model hanging. While the phone hasn’t yet been teased officially, multiple leaks have outlined what to expect. The phone was earlier rumored to launch sometime during the first quarter of 2022, but that looks to now be delayed.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (via IT Home) says that an engineering version of the device, likely built for testing purposes, was seen in January with the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. But Xiaomi looks to be aiming to ship the 12 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, because of which the device has now been delayed. It could be possible that the company is facing trouble procuring sufficient stock of the upcoming chip.

According to previous leaks, the rear camera module of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to adopt a circular shape and will sit in the center of a large section that will span almost the entire top half of the phone. Just take a look at the image below to get an idea.

The camera module itself will most likely house three lenses — a main camera at the center, a periscope telephoto camera, and finally an ultrawide-angle snapper.

The display is expected to be a 2K OLED display from Samsung. The battery is expected to be sized 4860mAh with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
