Just as scheduled, OPPO started rolling out ColorOS 12 stable update based on Android 12 for the OPPO Reno4 5G series in China yesterday (March 7). The update is live for all four models in the lineup, such as vanilla, pro, and two special editions of the pro.
OPPO kickstarted the ColorOS 12 beta program for the Chinese OPPO Reno4 5G series in mid-January. Almost two months later, the handsets have now begun to receive the stable update.
According to the official announcement post on OPPO Community China, the update is live for the following models,
- OPPO Reno4 5G
- OPPOReno4 Pro 5G
- OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G 2020 Summer Limited Edition
- OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G Artist Limited Edition
In order to receive the update, users should be running firmware version C.37 on the vanilla variant and C.36 on the pro variants. To download and install the update, they need to navigate to Settings > Software Update > Gear Icon > Upgrade Early Adopters > Official Version Application > Agree to Privacy Policy > Apply Now > Check for Updates.
The above procedure is only for those who want to try the update right away. The update will be made available for everyone via regular OTA from Settings > Software Update in the coming days if these early adopters don’t face any major issues.
