Smartron’s second electric bike, the tbike OneX has been announced in India. The tbike OneX is a great addition to the ridesharing and delivery market in India and overseas. According to Smartron’s founder and chairman, Mahesh Lingareddy, the new e-bike is a recipient of international awards, and the basic segment of the e-bike could expand to accommodate the lifestyle and other innovative applications.
The tbike OneX has a multi-modular and multipurpose design and can be used as a multi-utility e-bike focused on ridesharing and logistics delivery markets. Smartron has continued to expand in its operations, delivering the tbikes to far-flung places in Africa, North and South America, as well as countries in Europe and Asia.
Being a full-blown Indian company, Smartron is promoting local content by completely undertaking the design and engineering aspects in India. This approach has eliminated the problems of supply chain logistics challenges. The tbike OneX has the tronx platform which operates in conjunction with the tbike mobile app and tlock, offering a range of customized fleet and rider management opportunities. It can be easily integrated into existing systems for rideshare and delivery services. The system also provides real-time monitoring and remote diagnostics of the tbike OneX fleet within a system. Other features available in the tronx platform are asset utilization, battery status, location, remote lock/ unlock, and geofencing.
OneX is the first multipurpose e-bike that caters to the business-to-business (B2B) segment. It comes with a lifetime warranty for its frame, Magnesium Alloy wheels, puncture-proof tires, 25km/h top speed, and a riding range beyond 100km. Battery swapping and onboard charging are also possible with the tbike OneX. The OneX is priced at Rs. 38,000 (~$494) excluding GST. There are few details about the global availability and pricing of the OneX at this time.
