The Huawei Watch GT Runner, which first debuted in November 2021 and was launched globally earlier this year has received its first update for users outside China.

According to a report by Huaweicentral, the update comes with firmware version 2.1.0.219 and is 61.30 Megabytes in size. According to the changelog, the update brings support for replying to third-party applications such as WeChat. It also makes improvements to the Huawei Music listening experience and offers better system stability in general. It also fixes an issue charging animation found on some units similar Huawei Watch GT 3 series.

Before initiating the update process, make sure that the Bluetooth is connected to your smartphone and won’t disconnect during the update process. Keep the device charged to at least 30% and don’t try to stop or interrupt the process until the progress indicator on the device indicates the end of the process.

the Huawei Watch GT Runner features a 1.43-inch round AMOLED screen and runs HarmonyOS which brings support for a variety of third-party applications. It comes with Huawei’s TruSeen 5.0 Plus heart rate sensor, support for 100+ workout modes, all-day SpO2 monitoring, and an AI-driven running coach.

There are also Huawei TruSport analytics-powered features like the Running Ability Index (RAI) and Professional Running Programme. Coming to the battery life, the company promises up to 14 days with normal use and around 7 days of battery life with heavy use.
