A YouTube video of the teardown of the iPhone SE 3 has surfaced. The video provides an insightful look into the internals of the third-generation budget iPhone SE. The teardown indicates that the iPhone SE 3 has a larger battery than its predecessor the iPhone SE 2 and also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X57 modem for 5G connectivity.
When compared with the iPhone SE 2 battery at 1,821 mAh, the iPhone SE 3 has a larger 2,018 mAh battery. This translates to up to two extra hours of video playback or 10 hours of audio playback for the new model. The Snapdragon X57 modem seems to be custom-made for the iPhone SE 3 and its 5G support is limited to bands below 6GHz. Unlike the iPhone 13 series, the iPhone SE 3 will not support the faster mmWave bands in the 5G spectrum.
The iPhone SE 3 has an additional 1GB of RAM resource ahead of its predecessor. Its 4GB of RAM provides a marginal increment in processing capabilities. The YouTube video does not indicate any repairability metrics for the iPhone SE 3 although more teardown details could be out in the coming days. Overall, the iPhone SE 3 has similar internals to the iPhone SE 2.
