New Xiaomi phones with model numbers 22041216UC and 22041216C were given the green flag recently by the company, and the duo is expected to be a part of none other than the Redmi Note 12 series.
The certification doesn’t reveal any useful information about the two devices aside from showing that both will support 5G. 5G will be enabled by high-performance MediaTek Dimensity series chips, tipster Digital Chat Station had tipped earlier. While flagship offerings from the chipmaker seem to be a stretch since the Redmi Note 12 series will be mid-range, the Dimensity 1300 or Dimensity 8000/8100 look within reach for the lineup.
Aside from this, barely anything’s known about the Redmi Note 12 series currently, but we should be seeing more info leak ahead of their launch, slated to be in the second quarter of this year.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ supported 120W fast charging while the Redmi Note 11 Pro supported 67W, so we should be seeing similar speeds with the Redmi Note 12 series as well.
Last year, Lu Weibing, general manager of Redmi brand, has started a new iteration strategy where two generations will be launched each year, mainly to satisfy the increasingly diversifying needs of users. He added that the series will be focusing on performance.
