Xiaomi has launched a new smartphone under the Redmi brand in Japan. The Redmi Note 10T 5G shares a name with a similar model launched last year in India but the two models are not the same. The new Note 10T is powered by a Qualcomm chipset as against a MediaTek model on last year’s own and it bears a different design. Redmi Note 10T

The new Redmi Note 10T packs a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with support for a 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The device features a punch-hole design while at the rear, there is a dual-camera setup arranged in a vertical module at the top left corner of the back panel. As stated earlier, the Note 10T is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset which confers on the device 5G connectivity. The phone is capable of mustering download speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps and upload speeds up to 660 Mbps. The chipset also comes with support for Wi-Fi 6 as well as Bluetooth 5.1. The chipset is paired with 4GB RAM while the base model has 64GB storage expandable via a microSD card slot.Redmi Note 10T Japan

For photography, the Redmi Note 10T 5G packs a 50 MP main camera teaming up with a 2MP depth sensor. The device crams a 5000 mAh battery under the hood and features support for 18W fast charging.

For interface, the Redmi model runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 11 primed to get Android 12 in the near future.Redmi Note 10T As for the price, the Redmi Note 10T is priced at 34,800 JPY (~$276) for the 4GB + 64GB model. There may be other memory configurations but for now, this is the only available model on Xiaomi’s Japanese website. The phone is available in three hues –  Black, green and blue.
