Samsung has just launched the Galaxy M53 5G in the Indian market. The smartphone is the latest entry in the company’s popular mid range M series, and is also the first model within the M family to feature a 108 megapixel camera. So let’s have a look.

Design & Display

Similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy M52, the Galaxy M53 also features an Infinity O display on the front. The latest iteration also has a flat screen on the front with a center aligned punch hole cutout for the selfie camera and rounded corners. However, unlike the previous generation, the rear camera module is now a square shape with a quad sensors, rather than the vertically stacked model on the Galaxy M52. The device sports a 6.7 inch SuperAMOLED Plus display that has a FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate as well. Notably, the bezels are quite thin but the bottom chin is a bit noticeable.

Under the hood, the South Korean tech giant’s newly unveiled Galaxy M53 5G is packed with the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 900 octa core processor that is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This storage can be further expanded by up to 1TB thanks to a MicroSD card slot. The smartphone is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack that supports 25W fast charging as well.

Other features include sub 6GHz 5G support, dual SIM slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS. It runs on the Android 12 OS based One UI 4.1 out of the box and also houses a side mounted fingerprint scanner for security. Notably, the company is also offering Knox data security to ensure users’ data stay protected.

Cameras

One of the key highlighting aspects of the Galaxy M53 5G is undoubtedly its 108 megapixel primary camera. As we mentioned above, it is the first Galaxy M handset that features such a large sensor. It is also paired with an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, a 2 megapixel depth camera, and another 2 megapixel macro sensor as well. Meanwhile, the front houses a 32 megapixel selfie shooter. Interestingly, both the front and rear camera on the Galaxy M53 5G supports 4K video recording at 30fps.

Pricing & Availability

Samsung has just announced the Galaxy M53 5G in India, which arrives in multiple color options. This includes Brown, Blue, and Green options. The device is priced at 23,999 INR (roughly 314 US Dollars) for its 6GB RAM variant, while the 8GB model costs  25,999 INR (roughly 340 US Dollars).
