A new leak has revealed that Sony is already working on the successor of the LinkBuds truly wireless earbuds. Apparently, the launch of the new earbuds is just around the corner and it is called the LinkBuds S.

The news arrives from a known tipster Jon Prosser who shared the news on Twitter. Reportedly, the new wireless earphones from the Japanese tech giant is set to be unveiled on the 18th of May 2022. Furthermore, he is expecting the brand to announce its flagship Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones a few days prior on May 12. As of right now, there is not a lot of information available regarding the LinkBuds S earbuds.

Although, it is rumored to come with a design that is different from the previously launched LinkBuds TWS. In other words, it won’t feature the unique hole in the center of the earbuds and will come with a closed design with a round vent near the ear canal that will allow sound to pass through. Jon Prosser further leaked the pricing for these upcoming earbuds. As per the tweet, the company is planning on launching the LinkBuds S for around 199 US Dollars.

This also means that it is priced slightly higher than the previously launched LinkBuds TWS earbuds. So, we can expect the newer model to offer improved specifications or better features overall. Unfortunately, this is all the information we have at the moment, so stay tuned for more, as we will be covering the launch of the upcoming Sony audio products.
