The Vivo S15 series launch is just around the corner. The company had just teased the upcoming smartphones’ design earlier today (16th May 2022). So now, let’s have a look at what we know so far regarding their specifications, pricing, and more.
Design & Display
As stated above, the Chinese smartphone maker had shared a teaser in which it revealed that the S15 series features aviation grade aluminum frame. The front also features a 60 degree curved display with rounded corners as well. On the front, both models house a punch hole cutout for the selfie camera. Meanwhile, the rear houses a large triple camera setup on both the base and Pro variant.
The vanilla S15 features a large 6.62 inch OLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution. On the other hand, the Pro variant will apparently sport a smaller 6.56 inch OLED screen that also has a Full HD+ resolution and a high 120Hz refresh rate that might be coupled with an independent display chipset.
Specifications & Camera
Under the hood, the Vivo S15 is expected to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC while the S15 Pro is said to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor. Both models are expected to house around 8GB to 12GB of RAM and either 128GB and 256GB of internal storage. The former is reported to be powered by a large 4,700mAh battery pack that supports 80W fast charging while the latter features a smaller 4,400mAh battery pack that also supports a similar fast charging support. Both models will likely run on Android 12 based OriginOS Ocean out of the box.
The S15 Pro features a triple camera setup on the rear, which includes a 50 megapixel primary shooter that is paired with a 13 megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. The front has a 50 megapixel selfie camera. Talking about the base model, it houses a 64 megapixel primary camera along with an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it features a 16 megapixel selfie shooter.
Colors & Availability
Based on some official teasers and images, the Vivo S15 Pro is expected to launch in multiple color options in China. This includes Midsummer Blue, Light Gold, and Black color variant. Arriving at the S15 Pro, it will also apparently come in the same color options as the base version. The upcoming lineup is set to be officially announced in China on May 19.
