Oppo Reno8 series is confirmed to go official in China on May 23. Just days before the official debut, the company revealed that the upcoming series will arrive with not one but two chips. Oppo announced that the Oppo Reno8 series will be equipped with the company’s home-brewed MarisiliconX NPU imaging chip.

The company took to Weibo to reveal that the new Reno8 series will be equipped with its self-developed Mariana MariSiliconX Chip. This chip will certainly take the camera capabilities of the smartphone to the next level. The chip can optimize pictures, improve system computing power, and enhance lowlight photos. In addition, it will also offer real-time AI computing to improve energy efficiency.

Oppo reno series to arrive with MarisiliconX

The new MariSiliconX is manufactured using TSMC’s 6nm process and seeks to improve the imaging capability of upcoming Oppo smartphones. It is said to offer industry-leading ultra HDR capabilities while also enabling lossless real-time RAW captures and maximizing the RGBW sensor’s performance. It can offer an extreme dynamic range via 20bit HDR.

It also reported that the new reno series is going to land with improved night mode. The phones come equipped with a 32-megapixel super-sensitive cat-eye lens on the front which can greatly increase the amount of light entering. Moreover, the camera unit comes integrated with Oppo’s in-house RGBW image sensor.
