Android 12 has now been here for quite a long time and its iteration is also coming soon. While the majority of the eligible smartphones have already received the Android 12 software update, there are still some devices that haven’t got the taste of the latest firmware yet. Xiaomi 12X is one such device, but that changes now, as the Chinese company has now rolled out the Android 12 update Globally for Xiaomi 12X.
Xiaomi 12X debuted back in March alongside the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. Though the two flagships landed with MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box, the affordable Xiaomi 12X wasn’t so lucky and arrived with Android 11. For some reason, the global variant that was launched months after the initial Chinese release also came pre-installed with Android 11. But anyways, the company has finally released the Android 12 update for the Xiaomi 12X

As initially spotted by the folks at Xiaomiui, the build number for the latest Android 12 update is V13.0.1.0.SLDMIXM. The update comes packed in 3.1GB of data so you might want to connect to the Wi-Fi if your carrier deal isn’t data-heavy.
As per the official changelog, the new build comes with all the standard Android 12 features, along with the April 2022 security patch that contains seven security improvements for the Android Framework.
To recall, the smartphone features a 6.28″ OLED display with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Powered by the Snapdragon 870 5G processor the smartphone comes with a triple camera setup on the back with a 50MP main camera and 5MP macro lens and 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens. While on the front, it has a single 32MP snapper for selfies. Xiaomi 12X is fueled by a 4500mAh battery and supports 67W fast charging.
