Realme GT 2 Pro is arguably the best smartphone by the company. It’s a very well-rounded flagship that comes at a competitively low price. The smartphone features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, up to 12GB RAM, a 120Hz QHD+ AMOLED LTPO display, and much more. While on the software front, it comes with a heavily-modified Android skin, dubbed Realme UI 3.0 similar to Xiaomi’s MIUI. However, if you are not a fan of this Android skin, which is understandable, and want to free yourself from its grip, you would be happy to know that the bootloader on the Realme GT 2 Pro can now be unlocked.

The Realme GT 2 Pro was launched with Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12. the BBK-owned company also recently rolled out a beta version of Android 13 for the smartphone. While most of the users do just fine with Realme’s OS, some (Hi) want to get rid of it.

Luckily, Realme is now officially allowing users to unlock the bootloader of the Realme GT 2 Pro. In fact, the company has put an official post on its forum detailing how to unlock the bootloader of the smartphone. The post takes the users through the entire process, you can check it out here.

Please note that in order to unlock the bootloader of the Realme GT 2 Pro, you will first need to put an unlocking request in a device-specific unlock app named “In-Depth Test”. The request gets approved in about 15 minutes.

Before you go down that road, know that after unlocking your phone all of your data will be erased. So, it is advisable to create a backup before you proceed. Moreover, certain functions, such as the photo-taking function of the camera may not work properly because of third-party firmware. Private data on your phone may also leak, and security might get compromised.
