Microsoft‘s Xbox Series S is among one of the most accessible gaming consoles for gamers looking for a machine that can run current-generation games. It is basically a cut-down version of the Xbox Series X that comes with a relatively affordable price of ₹34,990.
However, according to a new report, the console, as well as the Xbox peripherals are set to get a price hike in India soon. According to industry insider Rishi Alwani, the prices of the Xbox Series S will be raised from ₹34,990 to ₹36,990. The tipster states that the price change will take effect starting June 30.
Other than the console, the Wireless Controller and Headset will also cost more than before. The controller, which currently has a price tag of ₹5,390, will cost ₹5,590 after the price change. Similarly, the price of the headset will also be bumped up from ₹8,990 to ₹9,490.
These changes are said to be a result of the fluctuating exchange rates of the Indian Rupee (₹) against the US Dollar.
Currently, it is unclear if the same price hikes will also come to the Xbox Series X or even the Sony Play Station 5. So, if you’ve been thinking of buying a new gaming console in India, this might be the right time before the prices go up.
