Huawei recently launched its flagship laptops for this year in the form of the Huawei MateBook 16s which was available for pre-order in the Chinese market earlier this month.
Now, the company has officially started selling the top-end model in China. This model, powered by the Core i9 processor, is priced at 8,799 yuan which is about $1,313.
The Huawei MateBook 16s comes equipped with a 16-inch display that offers a screen resolution of 2520 x 1680 pixels, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. It also has 300 nits of brightness and a 1500:1 contrast ratio along with support for a 100% sRGB color gamut.
Under the hood, this model is powered by the 12th generation Intel Core i9-12900H processor which has 14 cores and 20 threads. It offers a turbo frequency of up to 5GHz and supports LPDDR5 memory.
It has a soldered 16GB of RAM, meaning that the RAM cannot to switch out for the upgrade. As for the storage, the SSD provided on the laptop is an NVME PCIe SSD which Huawei didn’t specify the generation.
The device comes with a fingerprint sensor on the power button for biometric security. As one of Huawei’s flagship offerings, it features an upgraded 1080p wide-angle front-facing webcam for video calls, 4 microphones to ensure call quality is clear, and front-facing dual stereo speakers for a better multimedia audio experience.
The Huawei MateBook 16s is powered by an 84Wh battery and charges up to 135W via USB-C. It has two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one full-function USB-C port, one Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port, one HDMI 2.0 port, and one 3.5mm headphone jack.
