Which brand will launch the first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered smartphone? It appears that ASUS may win this battle since it has already confirmed that the ROG Phone 6 series will break cover on July 5. Recently, the 3C authority of China approved two ROG Phone 6 series devices with AI2201_A and AI2201_B model numbers. The AI2201_B has now passed TENAA certification, through which its specifications have been revealed. However, it is unclear whether it will debut as the ROG Phone 6 or ROG Phone 6 Pro.

It will be backed by a 2,925mAh (rated value) dual-cell battery. The total size of its battery could be 6,000mAh. The 3C certification of the device revealed that it may support 65W fast charging.

The ROG Phone 6’s front will be fitted with a 12-megapixel camera. Its rear-facing triple camera unit will have a 64-megapixel primary camera. The device also features an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The TENAA listing does not have images of the phone. Rumors have it that the ROG Phone 6 will come with a refreshed rear design.

While the ROG Phone 6 will be announced on July 5 in China, Taiwan, and the US, it may not go on sale immediately. The launch date of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is yet to be confirmed. However, it appears that the 12 Ultra could be made available for purchase in China before the ROG Phone 6 lineup.
