Apple’s iPhone 13 was the world’s top-selling smartphone for the month of April. Counterpoint’s Global Monthly Handset Sales Tracker for April 2022 revealed that the Cupertino-based tech giant also had five iPhone models in the top ten smartphone list. Meanwhile, South Korean brand Samsung had four of its smartphones in the list. The top ten phones captured 21 percent of the total smartphone market.

As per the Counterpoint research report, Apple’s iPhone 13 was the best-selling phone with a 5.5 percent share followed by the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max which recorded 3.4 and 1.8 percent share respectively. The non-Pro model is said to have maintained a lead every month since its launch last October and it has done better than the Pro variants in terms of sales. The iPhone 12 which debuted way back in 2020 bagged the fourth spot with a 1.2 percent share and increased sales in Japan and India. The iPhone SE 2022 is the fifth phone from Apple sitting in seventh place with a 1.4 percent market share. 

As for Samsung, the Galaxy S22 Ultra took the fifth spot with a 1.5 percent share. The other three Samsung phones to make it to the list are from the budget A-series lineup. The Galaxy A13 was the sixth-best smartphone with a 1.4 percent share. The eighth and ninth positions were occupied by Galaxy A03 Core and A53 5G with 1.4 and 1.3 percent market share respectively. 

The last spot in the top ten smartphones list has been occupied by Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 11 LTE with a 1.3 percent share.
