Samsung has been dominating the foldable smartphone market with the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series phones and has also managed to launch multiple generations of these phones, well ahead of the competition.

Now, the South Korean giant is reportedly planning to launch a new budget foldable smartphone which will be a part of the Galaxy A-series. While not much is known about this, its pricing details have leaked online.

As per the latest report, Samsung’s upcoming budget foldable smartphone could be priced at around 1 million won (approx. $771). However, in other markets, the device will be priced a bit higher because of the taxes but could be around $900 to $1,000.

It is also said that the company will cut corners by excluding premium features and the Galaxy A foldable lineup will only include core functionalities. It is said that the phone would not include the Ultra-Thin Glass layer found in the foldable phones of the company.

Currently, it is not known which form factor the South Korean giant goes with for the Galaxy A-series foldable device — the book-like fold found on the Galaxy Z Fold lineup or the clamshell fold found on the Galaxy Z Flip series.

The smartphone isn’t getting launched anytime soon and is speculated to go official sometime in 2024 or 2025. With new models of the foldable smartphone getting launched, the pricing is gradually decreasing and in a couple of years, it will be possible for Samsung to introduce a budget foldable smartphone in the market.
