Over the last couple of months, there have been rumors regarding Nintendo launching a new Switch console model. This variant will likely be called the Switch Pro, however, there has been no official word so far. But a new report has suggested that this model might be launched later this year.

The company has officially stated that it is not working on a Switch Pro model. However, a tweet from Pixelpar has claimed otherwise. For those unaware, the Switch has been a popular handheld gaming console in the market, but many users have also wanted a more powerful version for a while now. So, the Pro model would likely be a great addition to the Switch series.

As per the leak, the Switch Pro will be launching sometime near the end of this year. The tipster added that the new model will support current cartridges and even feature a similar form factor as the original Switch. Although, the Pro model is rumored to offer better performance overall. The Switch Pro is also expected to launch with a larger display and support for 4K output when docked.

The upcoming handheld console will also reportedly feature more RAM and a new Nvidia Tegra chipset. A recent leak has claimed that the Switch Pro could be revealed in September 2022. Notably, the source of this leak had also accurately predicted the Splatoon 3 Switch OLED. Unfortunately, this is still an unconfirmed report so take this news with a pinch of salt for now and stay tuned for more updates.
