Samsung has launched the latest Galaxy Z Flip 4 at the Galaxy Unpacked event held today (August 10). The new foldable comes with significant upgrades over its predecessor. It is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a 3,700mAh battery, a dual rear camera setup, and much more. Let’s have a detailed look at its specifications, pricing, and availability.
Design & Display
Samsung’s new clamshell is carrying many upgrades in terms of performance, camera, and more but design-wise it looks the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, Samsung claims that it slimmed down the bezels and hinge. It has the same dual-tone design with two cameras on the back. The cover display is also the same size as the Flip 3.

Talking about the display, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 flaunts a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). The smartphone also has a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover screen on the outer display that offers a 260×512-pixel resolution.
Specifications
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 features some impressive hardware specs. It draws power from an upgraded Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which is currently the most powerful chipset you can find on an Android device. The chipset is paired with the same 8GB RAM. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

On the software front, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 runs Android 12 with One UI 4.1 on top. The device is expected to receive an Android 13-based One UI 5 update very soon. The update policy on the device is also pretty solid. Samsung claims the Flip 4 will receive 4 years of major updates and 5 years of security updates, that’s more than what any other OEM offers.
The device is carrying decent upgrades in terms of battery. It packs a larger 3700mAh battery. For reference, the Flip 3 had a 3300mAh battery. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 supports 25W wired charging, as well as Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and reverse wireless charging.
Camera
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 houses a dual camera setup on the back. The main camera is 12-megapixel with 1.8µm pixels and OIS. The main sensor is accompanied by a second 12-megapixel sensor with a 123-degree field of view. The camera department is the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 3, however, Samsung claims that the main camera can click 65% brighter images. On the front, the device has a 10-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The primary camera can now snap photos in normal and portrait mode in low light thanks to Samsung’s Super Night Solution technology. The Galaxy Z Flip 4’s AI lighting and stabilization capabilities have also been improved, which should make photography and videography on the new Flip substantially better.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Price and Availability
Interested customers will be able to buy the Galaxy Z Flip 4 from Samsung or other retailers from August 26. You can pre-book the smartphone starting today to get a free storage upgrade and a Silicone case.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is priced at $999 for the base 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage variant. The device is also available in 256GB and 512GB models, however, their prices are yet to be revealed.
