Seamless connectivity across platforms brings connectivity to users. It is the reason why Apple has such a loyal fanbase because the iOS, macOS, and iPadOS operating systems are all seamlessly integrated together within Apple’s ecosystem. The Apple ecosystem provides its users the convenience and benefit of sharing media and files between their iPhones, iPads, and Macbooks at the same place, at the same time.

Thus, it comes as no surprise when Android manufacturers want to emulate the experience to provide Android users a seamlessly integrated experience as well. Case and point, Huawei has managed to create their own ecosystem with their smartphones, tablets, Huawei Matebook laptops, as well as their smart TVs, with their own in-house self-developed HarmonyOS.

And in 2022, it looks like another player will be joining the smart ecosystem competition as well, and it is none other the biggest brand of the BBK consumers electronics group  – Oppo.

On its official Weibo social media account today, Oppo had teased that the company will be launching its latest cross-platform smart device ecosystem, named “Pantanal”, which will include smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and etc., integrated together under one smart ecosystem.

The teaser reveals that Oppo is planning announce “Pantanal” at its ODC 2022 (Oppo Developers Conference 2022) in China happening on August 30th next Tuesday.

As to what the name “Pantanal” refers to, the Pantanal is actually a UNESCO heritage site located in South America.

At more than 42 million acres, the Pantanal is the largest tropical wetland and one of the most pristine in the world. To put its size into perspective, put the Pantanal over Europe, and it would be larger than at least nine countries, including England, Austria, Hungary, Greece, and Ireland.

It sprawls across three South American countries—Bolivia, Brazil and Paraguay—and supports millions of people there, as well as communities in the lower Rio de la Plata Basin. Another fun fact of this massive wetland is that it has the largest concentration of crocodiles in the world, with approximately 10 million caimans.

According sources within China, the Pantanal smart cross-platform ecosystem is one of the 3 most important releases for Oppo this year, alongside Oppo’s Marisilicon X imaging silicon announced earlier this year, and another unknown release that Oppo is saving for the end of the year.
