The festive season is about to begin across the world. Hence, multiple smartphone launches are expected in the next couple of months.
As of writing this article, 7 different brands have already scheduled launch conferences in September. We may see the announcement of multiple phones at some of these events.
Apart from the confirmed launches, there are also several rumored releases. We have compiled all of them in one place.
Since the festive season is a revenue generator for firms, handsets of all varieties will go official in the coming days. We are looking forward to smartphones spanning across different categories and price segments.
With that out of the way, let’s take a look at all the smartphones that are either officially confirmed or expected to launch in September 2022.
Upcoming Smartphones in September 2022
1. Sony Xperia 5 IV
Sony has scheduled a phone launch for September 1 at IFA 2022. The company is expected to announce the Xperia 5 IV, the fourth generation of its compact flagship smartphone.
Not much is known about this device, except that it will arrive with an around 6-inch display, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, WiFi 6, and NFC with support for FeliCa.
We don’t have to wait longer to know everything about this phone as it will be the first to go official in September.
2. Poco M5 Series
The Poco M5 series has been confirmed to debut on September 5 in multiple markets. The lineup consists of two models, namely Poco M5 and Poco M5s.
Out of the two devices, the M5s will be a rebranded Redmi Note 10S with some tweaks. Whereas, the M5 will be a new handset powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC.
We are looking forward to learning more about the duo in the coming days.
3. Redmi 11 Prime 5G
The Redmi 11 Prime 5G is heading to India on September 6. The device is nothing but a rebranded Redmi Note 11E. This phone also goes by Redmi 10 5G in Southeast Asia.
It comes with a 6.58-inch FHD+ 90Hz display (LCD), MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, 50MP (wide) + 2MP (depth) dual-camera setup, 5MP selfie camera, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, MIUI, 5,000mAh battery, and 18W wired charging support.
4. Huawei Mate 50 Series
The Huawei Mate 50 series is set to fo go official on September 6 in China. A total of four phones are expected, such as Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, Porsche Design Mate 50 RS, and Mate 50e.
The first three models are said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Whereas, the e-variant is tipped to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chip. Either way, all of them will be limited to 4G connectivity.
Unlike earlier, leaks regarding Huawei products have become rare. Therefore, not much is known about the next-gen premium smartphones from the company.
5. Apple iPhone 14 Series
Apple has scheduled an event for September 7. The company is expected to debut four new iPhones, namely iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The new Max model is rumored to replace the Mini. Further, only Pro and Pro Max are said to bring more improvements, like redesigned notch (punch-hole and pill), A16 Bionic SoC, better ultra-wide camera, and 48MP main camera to name a few.
As Apple products are not known for accurate leaks, we will have to wait until the launch event to learn everything about these forthcoming smartphones.
6. Motorola Edge 30 Series
Motorola is teasing the launch of new Edge series smartphones on September 8 in multiple markets. Initially, only Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion were expected. Now, as per a new leak, this duo will be accompanied by Edge 30 Neo.
The Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion are nothing international variants of Moto X30 Pro and Moto S30 Pro sold in China. Whereas, the Edge 30 Neo will be a new handset.
7. Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate
The Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is set to go official on September 19. As the name suggests, the handset is a variant of the ROG Phone 6 Ultimate.
According to leaks and teasers, the device will only differ in terms of the chipset. It will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus chip instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC.
Apart from the silicon, the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate will be likely the same as the ROG Phone 6 Ultimate.
8. Realme GT Neo 3T
The Realme GT Neo 3T was teased to launch in India in August. But now, it appears that the handset will be released in the region in September.
The device is a rebranded Realme Q5 Pro sold in China. It comes with a 6.62-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, Android 12, 64MP main camera, 16MP selfie camera, 5,000mAh battery, and 80W fast wired charging support.
9. Oppo A17K, A57e, and A77s
The Oppo A17K is expected to release as a successor to Oppo A16K. Not much is known about the handset, except that it will be a 4G-only smartphone.
It may arrive with an HD+ display (LCD), MediaTek or UNISOC chipset, either a single or dual camera setup, and a large battery.
Further, the Oppo A57e is tipped to be a variant of the Oppo A57. It is said to cost ₹13,999 in India.
It is not known how it will differ from the original model. We can expect it to come with a large display, huge battery, single or dual camera system, and more.
Finally, the Oppo A77s is expected to be a variant of the Oppo A77. As of now, we only know two things about it.
The device will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery and it will carry support for 33W wired charging.
10. iQOO Z6 Lite 5G and iQOO Z6 Pro SE
The iQOO Z6 Lite 5G is tipped to be a tweaked version of Vivo T1x with support for 5G connectivity. It is said to go official in the second week of September in India.
Whereas, nothing is known about the iQOO Z6 Pro SE. As per its name, it could be a lite variant of the regular iQOO Z6 Pro.
11. Samsung Galaxy A04s, Galaxy A04 Core, and Galaxy M04
A few days back, Samsung announced the Galaxy A04. This handset is now expected to be accompanied by two models in the series, namely Galaxy A04s and Galaxy A04 Core.
Going by their names, the Galaxy A04s model could be a better version of the vanilla Galaxy A04, while the Galaxy A04 Core will likely be a lite variant.
Lastly, Samsung is also said to debut Galaxy M04, which could be a rebranded Galaxy A04.
12. Xiaomi 12T Series
The Xiaomi 12T series in the news for a very long time. However, the company is yet to disclose the launch date. Going by its predecessors, the lineup will most likely go official in September.
According to reports, the Xiaomi 12T Pro will be a tweaked Redmi K50 Ultra with a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 primary camera. On the other hand, the vanilla Xiaomi 12T is rumored to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra SoC and a 108MP main camera.
13. Redmi A1 and Poco C50
The Redmi A1 will be an entry-level smartphone from Xiaomi. It is said to arrive with a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset and Android 12.
The device is also expected to launch as Poco C50 with cosmetic changes.
