Samsung has announced the Odyssey OLED G84SB premium QHD curved monitor with a 175Hz refresh rate. The new Samsung monitor has a screen size of 34 inches and is Samsung’s first OLED gaming monitor. The announcement was made during the IFA 2022 in Berlin, Germany.
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is a slim model which features Quantum Dot Technology for excellent brightness. Its high refresh rate of 175Hz and a response time of 0.1ms means that the monitor is well primed for gaming. The monitor has an aluminum frame and features VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black. It also comes with AMD FreeSync Premium for seamless performance. The lighting is controlled by pixels and a solid contrast ratio.
Odyssey OLED G8 has an ultra-wide QHD with a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels, 100% colour volume, and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The gaming monitor has RGB and true black optimal colour accuracy support and a 99.3% DCI colour gamut. The gaming monitor is powered by Samsung’s Smart Hub featuring entertainment and lifestyle options. The Samsung Gaming Hub is also part of the features that guarantee variety and an immersive gaming experience. There are several gaming options including Xbox, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, and Google Stadia. Amazon Lula support is available also exclusively in the US market.
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor is versatile and can be used in different orientations. It has a Height Adjustable Stand (HAS) and tilt for utmost ergonomic comfort for any gamer. The Odyssey OLED G8 could arrive on the global market by Q4 2022 but Samsung has not released its pricing details yet.
