Xiaomi is now receiving pre-orders for the MIJIA Solar Panel 100W in China. The new solar panel comes with a foldable design that makes it to be compact and easy to transport. It also features the Metal Wrap Through (MWT) technology for greater energy conversion.
The Xiaomi MIJIA Solar Panel 100W works with the MIJIA Outdoor Power Supply 1000 Pro. Two units of the new solar panel can deliver 200W power to energize the MIJIA Outdoor Power Supply Pro. Xiaomi is, however, silent on how long it takes to fully charge the power generator. The panel can fold to the size of an A2 paper which is great for its compactness. The panel has an MWT back-contact battery and layers of EVA insulation for enhanced power efficiency. It also has a front glass panel and weighs about 3.1kg. It is rated IP65 for excellent protection against the elements.
The MIJIA Solar Panel 100W has a storage pouch that houses the charging cables and could also be compatible with other power generators. The pre-order price of the MIJIA Solar Panel 100W is 1,099 yuan ($158) in China. It can be ordered from Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, and JD.com upon making a 100-yuan ($14) deposit. The earliest shipments of the MIJIA Solar Panel will be by September 16. The gadget will revert to its original price of 1,299 yuan ($187) after the pre-order period. Xiaomi has not provided any details yet on its global rollout plans for the product.
