Vivo Y22 has been silently launched in India. It arrives as the successor to the Y21 that debuted in the country last year. The latest offering packs significant upgrades over its predecessor. The Vivo Y22 is a budget offering and falls under the sub-Rs 18,000 price bracket. Read on to know what the smartphone offers out of the box.

The Vivo Y22 features a 6.55-inch display bearing an HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. It offers a 60Hz refresh rate and 530 nits peak brightness. The device has a rectangular camera module on the back panel and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. 

On the imaging front, the Vivo Y22 comes with a dual rear camera setup of a 50MP primary sensor paired with a 2MP secondary lens. There is an 8MP front-facing selfie snapper. 

Under the hood, the Vivo Y22 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G70 processor. It packs up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage expandable via a microSD card slot. The smartphone draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 18W fast charging. It runs on Android 12-based Funtouch OS out of the box. 

Connectivity options on the Vivo Y22 include a USB-C port, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. 

The Vivo Y22 starts at Rs 14,499 for the base 4GB + 64GB variant. The 6GB + 128GB option costs Rs 16,499. The smartphone is offered in Starlight Blue and Metaverse Green colours. It can be purchased across all online and offline retailers starting today.
