The Osmo Action 3 is DJI’s latest action camera and comes well-kitted to dominate the market – at least for now. The Osmo Action 3 comes with a new design, a longer battery life, and improved waterproof capability.DJI Osmo Action 3

The Osmo Action 3 is coming ahead of GoPro’s Hero 11 Black and Hero 11 Black Mini. It has an additional front-facing touchscreen and provides an improved image stabilization than its predecessor, the Action 2. The DJI Osmo Action 3 has a different design than the Action 2 and most of their accessories are incompatible. It boasts up to 160 minutes of activity, thanks to its bigger 1,770mAh battery. It can record 4K videos for up to 150 minutes even in -20ºC conditions. In terms of waterproofing, the Osmo Action 3 has 16m protection even without a dedicated case.

The Action 3 weighs 145g and combines the 1.4-inch front display with its primary 2.25-inch rear display. The new DJI action camera uses a 1/1.7-inch CMOS 12MP sensor with a 155-degree field of view (FOV) and an f/2.8 aperture. The sensor is the same as that of the Action 2, but DJI uses the RockSteady 3.0 software to deliver superior image stabilization. The Osmo Action 3 has a quick-release design, three integrated mics within the camera, and three in the front touchscreen module. The Action 3 also features HorizonSteady and HorizonBalancing like its predecessor.

The Standard Combo pack of the Osmo Action 3 includes one battery, a quick-release adapter mount, and an adhesive base. The Adventure Combo pack adds a 1.5m extension rod, a multifunctional battery case, an additional set of rubber lens protectors, and two more batteries, among others. The Standard Combo pack is priced at $329 (via Amazon) while the Adventure Combo pack will cost more. The DJI Osmo Action 3 can be purchased now but deliveries are expected to start rolling by the end of September and early October.
