The iPhone 14 series has enjoyed rave reviews with some marked improvements in the lineup. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is the signature offering of the lineup and a new disassembly video has given us a glimpse of its internals. A video by PBKreviews detailed the disassembling of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The specific unit is the US version and lacks a physical SIM module.

The iPhone 14 series do not look too different from its predecessors outside, but there are some significant changes inside. The first thing that comes off during the disassembly is the phone’s display. A metal plate helps to secure the cables attached to the two-layer motherboard. The metal plate also supports the phone’s heat dissipation. When the metal plate is disassembled, then the screen and battery can be disconnected easily. Screen repairability is thus high for the iPhone 14 Pro Max but this could be expensive. The battery capacity of the phone is 16.93Wh.

The phone’s camera system can be gotten to after digging through a few more components. The selfie camera has OIS with autofocus included. Apart from the lack of a physical SIM and the presence of auto image stabilization, the phone also features a new SOS functionality. The SOS over satellite component takes up a bit of space on the motherboard. It is a remarkable addition seeing that the model has the same size as the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Overall, the teardown video shows that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is relatively easy to repair but this could be expensive.
