Xiaomi is finally ending the software support for the Mi A3 smartphone, which is the last of its Android One models. This basically marks an end of the Android One era for the company.
According to the Xiaomi Security Center’s EOS product list, the Chinese tech giant released a list of all devices that has finally reached the end of their software support life. This basically means that these phones will no longer receive any software or firmware updates, which includes security patches as well. The site shows a long list of Redmi and Xiaomi branded devices. Some of these models in the EOS list includes the Android One smartphone models that the Chinese brand had launched in the past, with the latest one being the Mi A3.
For those unaware, the Android One program was basically smartphone that features the stock Android operating system. Furthermore, these models typically received at least two years of major OS upgrades as well. Notably, one of the most highlighting aspect of these Android One phones were that they typically are some of the first Android models to receive new OS updates for the Android platform, rivaling even Google’s very own Pixel phones as well.
