The iPhone 14 Pro Max is the latest Apple flagship released a few weeks ago. The smartphone now sits atop the rankings of the DisplayMate smartphone display. It has taken the top position from the iPhone 13 Pro Max as the smartphone with the best display.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max obtained an overall A+ rating in tests, underscoring the tremendous display of the Apple 2022 flagship. The iPhone 14 Pro Max has a peak brightness of 2,300 nits and an infinite contrast ratio. Although Apple specifies a peak brightness rating of 2,000 nits for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the tests revealed 2,300 nits giving it the lowest screen reflectance recorded by DisplayMate (4.5%).
The tests also revealed the highest contrast rating in ambient light. There are a few components of the tests that resulted in near-perfect scores. These components include color accuracy on white, absolute color accuracy, image contrast accuracy, intensity scale, and peak luminance.
The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models have displays produced by Samsung hence the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra may also have a stellar DisplayMate performance or even outshine the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Nonetheless, the Apple flagship continues to garner awards and plaudits for its innovative features.
