Huawei is no longer an important player in the smartphone industry. However, the company keeps releasing new phones every now and then, albeit with limited availability.
The firm is expected to debut its second flip-style foldable smartphone with a vertical folding display in the near future. According to a tipster, this handset will be accompanied by a new smartwatch.
A leaker on Weibo (via HuaweiCentral) says that Huawei will hold a launch conference in China later this month. This event could take place around October 25.
The star of the show will be Huawei P50 Pocket New. As the name suggests, this foldable handset will be a new variant of the existing model.
The tipster says that a smartwatch will be presented at this conference. This wearable will be officially called Huawei Watch GT Cyber.
But unfortunately, he does not reveal anything about the watch. Hence, we know nothing about the product since this is the first time we are actually hearing about it.
On the other hand, we do know a few things about the Huawei P50 Pocket New. As per multiple reports, it will be a toned-down version of the original model.
The phone is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC instead of a Snapdragon 888 chipset. Further, it will lack the external cover display.
Last but not least, It is expected to come in two colors (Black, White) and could retail at ¥4,999 and ¥6,999 for 256GB and 512GB storage variants, respectively.
