Samsung has rolled out the first software update for the Galaxy Buds2 Pro TWS earphones released last month. The update with firmware version R510XXU0AVI7 is a 6MB download. It brings stability and reliability improvements to the earbuds but Samsung has not included any new features.
The Galaxy Buds2 Pro is the successor of the Galaxy Buds Pro. It comes with reduced weight, a square charging case, and three color options. The Buds2 Pro lacks the glossy finish in the Buds Pro and this makes it more attractive and comfortable to use. Each bud has a 58mAh battery as well as a 500mAh charging case. The Galaxy Buds2 Pro, therefore, delivers up to 616mAh of battery life. Three modes namely ANC, Off, and Ambient Sound are available with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and these can be activated by voice (the Voice Detect Feature) or a long press on any of the buds.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro offers up to 8 hours of playback on a single charge which reduces to about 5 hours with ANC/ Ambient Sound activated. The overall 616mAh battery of the Buds2 Pro can be charged via USB-C in 75 minutes. A Qi wireless charger is also available but it takes up to two hours to fully charge the device. There are two pogo pins for each bud at its nest. The Galaxy Buds2 Pro is rated IP67 and is priced at $229. Users of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro can download the update via the Galaxy Wearable app on their connected smartphone.
