Back in December 2021, Motorola launched the Moto X30 (globally known as Moto Edge 30 Pro) in China. Now, it seems the Lenovo-owned company is working on the successor of the X30— Moto X40. The handset was recently spotted on China’s 3C certification site. And today, a popular tipster has shared some of the key specifications of the upcoming smartphone. Here are the details.

Tipster Digital Chat Station revealed while replying to a user’s comment on Weibo that the upcoming Moto X40 smartphone will be equipped with an FHD+display and will be powered by the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset (via ITHome). In addition, the device is claimed to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera.

Furthermore, the tipster suggests that the Moto X40 will be low-priced, and it could be one of the most affordable smartphones with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

As mentioned, the alleged Moto X40 with model number XT2301-5 was spotted on 3C certification recently. The listing revealed the handset will support 68W fast charging. Just like the previous year’s model, the X40 could launch in the global market as Moto Edge 40 Pro.
