Recent reports have claimed that OPPO may announce the Reno 9 series of smartphones later this month (November) in China. Speculations are rife that the Reno 9 may arrive with the Snapdragon 778G Plus, while the Reno 9 Pro could be equipped with the Dimensity 8200 chip. A new leak, courtesy of reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (via. TechGoing) suggests that the Reno 9 Pro+ may come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 mobile platform. The leak also mentions the other specs of the device.

Readers are advised to digest the leaked information shared by DCS with a pinch of salt since he has not revealed the name of the device. However, not only the above-mentioned publication but also some Chinese media are speculating that he may have spilled the specifications of the Reno 9 Pro+.

The purported Reno 9 Pro+ houses a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a punch-hole, curved edges, narrow bezels, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The screen offers a Full HD+ resolution of 2,400 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The alleged Reno 9 Pro+ is said to be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.

The leak further states that the smartphone has a 32-megapixel camera for selfies. Its back panel has a 50-megapixel primary camera. He added that the rear snapper is a 1.56-inch Sony IMX890-series camera sensor. The NPU unit that will be available on the device will probably help in producing top-notch photos in low-light conditions.

The device is powered by a 4,700mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. Some of its other features include an IR blaster (not usually seen on OPPO phones) and a metallic middle frame.

OPPO is also working on a couple of other SD8+G1 phones. It will be seen on the Find N2 foldable phone and the Find N flip phone next month (December). The Find X6 should have the same chip when it comes out in Q1 2023.
