Google has guaranteed Pixel users up to 5 years of continuous monthly security patches. Keeping to its word, Google has released the November security patch for the Pixel 7 family. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones have both begun to receive the newest security patch update. It’s a minor update with a few bug fixes sprinkled throughout. The update’s primary goal is to extend the battery life of the devices.

The Pixel 6 series also received the security patch update. The Pixel 7 lineup will receive “optimizations for display power consumption to improve thermal performance in certain scenarios,” while on the other hand, last year’s Pixels will receive a “fix for an issue causing excessive power consumption while certain apps are loaded.”

The next December update will include Google’s quarterly feature drop, and hence major features and changes to the UI are expected. There may be some new features introduced in the Pixel lineup’s December update.
