The LMX 56 electric mountain bike has been unveiled. The e-bike comes with lots of tech innovations and power. It is the culmination of the collaboration between Spark Racing Technology and LMX. The LMX 56 has a peak power rating of 2.5kW for its extreme rides.

Spark Racing is a player in Formula E racing and it has made significant inroads into the all-electric racing series. Spark Racing has engaged in research and development along this line for a decade. It is also well-primed to participate in Formula E for 2023. The LMX 56 features a high-performance electric powertrain among several other tech features. The new high-power electric mountain bike is even described as a trial motorcycle disguised as an e-bike.

The LMX 56 boasts 10 times the output of most e-bikes in Europe with its 2.5kW peak output. It uses a helical gear reducer submerged in oil which allows for a maintenance-free operation of the motor. The system also allows the motor to operate at high speeds without overheating. The LMX 56 has a top speed of 45km/h through pedal-assist or throttle. The throttle of the LMX 56 is mounted on the handlebar of the bike while the 12V, 20Ah battery pack has a capacity of 1kWh.

LMX is yet to release the range of the new electric mountain bike. The divulged specs indicate that the e-bike could come with a decent range. Safety will be enhanced in the battery, housed inside the frame, and comes with a temperature/consumption monitor. It also has diagnostics functionality. The companion mobile app for the LMX 56 can be used to further optimize the ride and battery settings of the electric bicycle.
