Red Magic 8 Pro is in the works, and it is expected to debut soon as the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-equipped gaming phone. The handset was recently spotted on the TENNA and Bluetooth SIG websites. And today the device has appeared on China’s 3C certification site with 165W fast charging. It is expected to debut as early as December.

As initially spotted by MySmartPrice, Red Magic 8 Pro with model number NX729J has bagged certification from China’s 3C website. The listing states that the phone will support a maximum charging speed of 165W. It goes without saying that the handset will support 5G connectivity.

Details about the upcoming gaming phone are pretty short. It is said to debut soon alongside the vanilla Red Magic 8. Both smartphones are likely to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which may make them the first gaming phones with this new chip. However, they won’t be the first smartphones with this chipset; that honor goes to the Vivo X90 Pro+.

Red Magic 8 Pro will arrive as the successor of the Red Magic 7 Pro, which debuted earlier this year. The gaming phone has a 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

It has shoulder trigger buttons for a smooth gaming experience and packs a 5000mAh battery with 65W fast charging. For photography, the Red Magic 7 Pro gets a triple camera setup, comprising a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.
