After rumours broke out regarding Xiaomi launching its Xiaomi 13 flagship smartphones as soon as this Thursday (December 1st, 2022), it seems that more images about the devices have started to appear online. This time, a credible source from China has shared a very real life-like render image that shows off the standard Xiaomi 13 device’s front design.

The leaked photo was posted by the official AIUV Planet Weibo account. AIUV Planet is a well-known smartphone case manufacturer in China, and their latest Weibo post that they shared indirectly confirms the front design of the standard Xiaomi 13.

Captioned with “protected in our company’s armour casing”, the Xiaomi 13 shown here seems to sport a flat AMOLED screen with a centred punch hole on top of the display, housing the device’s single selfie camera. In addition to the flat screen, it seems the aluminium chassis is now sporting flat sides as well.

If the case render image is true, it seems that the standard Xiaomi 13 will be a big departure in design in comparison to the standard Xiaomi 12 last year which launched with a curved 120Hz AMOLED screen, and curved sides for a more comfortable in-hand feel.

In addition, the image also reveals that the earpiece speaker is still on top of the display, with the power button and volume buttons located on the right side of the device. The image also showcases the narrow side bezels on the left, right and top of the device, whilst leaving the bottom bezel to be revealed later by Xiaomi themselves.

Besides the vanilla Xiaomi 13, the Xiaomi 13 series is also expected to feature two more members in the family: the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Ultra. These 2 devices are expected to sport more premium displays that feature a bezel-less curved design, alongside a more potent camera system that can trade blows with the best in the industry.

The Xiaomi 13 flagships are to be the company’s first devices to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship mobile SoC. Incorporated with ARM’s more power-efficient A715 and A510R1 CPU cores, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is said to bring better battery life and better performance to the Xiaomi 13 series compared to the last generation.
