Xiaomi has started teasing its latest custom Android skin—MIUI 14. As expected, the Android-13-based software will debut alongside the Xiaomi 13 series on December 1 at 7 PM Beijing time. Ahead of the launch, the Chinese OEM commenced the MIUI 14 early access program in China. It will allow interested users to try their hands on the latest software before it goes public. Here are the details.

Xiaomi recently announced the MIUI 14 early access program in China (via ITHome). The program will begin today (November 28) and end at 23:59 on December 28, 2022. During this time, Xiaomi community users will be able to sign up and try out the new software. However, users can only register one Xiaomi device, be it a tablet or smartphone. Also, after successful registration, the device cannot be changed.
The early access build will likely be rolled out to different devices in a phased manner, and it may take some time to reach every registered user. It is important to note that the program is currently limited to users residing in Mainland China. It may extend to other regions soon.
If we talk about the software itself, MIUI 14 is claimed to be lightweight. A Xiaomi executive said the company wants to make MIUI 14 the most streamlined and lightweight flagship mobile operating system. We can expect the software to get a visual overhaul and introduce a new design language.
It will be interesting to see how light the new software is. We are bound to know it all on December 1 at the Xiaomi 13 series launch event. Stick around for the updates.
