JBL has just announced that it is celebrating a new notable milestone in the Indian market. The company has claimed that it has sold 200 million headphones in the region. So here are all of the details.

For those unaware, the known audio based company is a HARMAN Internation sub brand, which is a Samsung Electronics subsidiary that also makes its own audio products from the Harmon Kardon brand. Now, JBL is celebrating a new milestone as it achieves the sales of more than 200 million units of headphones in India alone. The company claims that this was achieved by accurately anticipating customer demands and growing headphone market with its high quality audio products.

Furthermore, the pandemic in 2020 led to a major jump in trends like HD music streaming, in game music consumption, podcasts, remote working, and conferencing, which lead to a boom in headphones sales. The company is also expecting a market growth of an impressive 17.6 percent between now and 2028. This news also arrives as JBL’s headphones overtook Sony in terms of global sales volume in the second quarter of this year. In other words, this made the company the number one global audio brand.

The company adds that it not only focused on high audio fidelity but also catered to various types of users ranging from athletic/fitness enthusiasts, audiophiles, and even gamers. They also focused on younger individuals that were now experiencing high quality audio for the first time. Apart from quality, one could also expect the brand to offer other features like comfort, customization, innovation, and sustainability as well.
