Tecno has recently held a mega launch event in Dubai to unveil the Phantom X2 series for the global market. Today, the company released an official confirmation that the Phantom X2 5G will be landing in India in January. Ahead of the launch, its landing page has gone live on Amazon India.

The Phantom X2 5G’s Amazon page reveals that its pre-booking will begin on the retailer site on Jan. 2. Its first sales are slated to begin on Jan. 9. There is no word on the Phantom X2 Pro 5G’s India launch, which indicates that it will not be launching with the Phantom X2.

The listing also states that a limited number of customers who pre-book the Phantom X2 will be able to upgrade to the next-generation Phantom X3 for free. The Phantom X3 series will probably be available in the second half of 2023.

The Tecno Phantom X2 is a flagship phone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. It features a 6.8-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED curved-edge display with an in-screen fingerprint scanner and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It runs on the HiOS 12-based Android 12 OS.

The Phantom X2 has up to 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It has a 5,160mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The X2 has a 32-megapixel front camera and a 64-megapixel (main) + 13-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel triple camera unit.

In Saudi Arabia, the Phantom X2 costs SAR 2,700 (~$717; ~Rs 59,350). There is no word on the X2’s price for the Indian market. As can be seen in the above image, it will be available in grey and silver colors.

The Phantom X2 Pro 5G may also launch in India. It remains to be seen whether it breaks cover in Q1 2023.
