A new report has revealed that Apple is apparently dominating the global smartphone revenue segment this year. The company took a massive lead over its competition, so here are all the details.

According to a Counterpoint Research report, the Cupertino based giant has managed to keep the throne and has even managed to raise its revenue share in the global smartphone market despite smartphone sales overall seeing a fall of 3 percent year on year. During this time, there was also a 12 percent decline in shipments, but there was a 10 percent hike in the average selling price (ASP).

In the total sales, 5G phones made up to 46 percent of shipments in quarter, which marks a new high. In the third quarter of this year, Apple took a dominating lead with a 42 percent global smartphone revenue share. Notably, this was up from just 37.1 percent from the same period a year prior. During the period between, July and September 2022, the brand’s iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max saw strong sales.

The iPhone 14 Plus did not begin shipping till the first week of October 2022. While Apple took the lead, South Korea’s Samsung took the second spot with an 18.3 percent revenue share. Xiaomi came in third with an 8.3 percent share, while Oppo and Vivo accounted for 6 percent and 5 percent respectively. So the iPhone 14 series is clearly performing well in the market.
