Redmi launched the Redmi 12C in China on New Year’s Eve. The device resembles the Redmi A1 series but offers better features.

The entry-level smartphone starts at only ¥699 (~100) in its home country. It is now up for sale in the region.

The newly introduced Redmi 12C retails at the following price tags in China.

  • 4GB + 64GB – ¥699 (~$100)
  • 4GB + 128GB – ¥799 (~$115)
  • 6GB + 128GB – ¥899 (~$130)

It can be availed in either Shadow Black, Dark Blue, Mint Green, or Lavender color options.

The Redmi 12C is built around a 6.71-inch display (LCD) with a resolution of 1650 x 720 pixels (HD+), 500 nits brightness, and a dewdrop notch. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.

The handset sports a dual camera system on the rear comprising a 50MP primary sensor and a depth sensor. On the front, it has a 5MP shooter.

The phone supports dual SIM, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, and GNSS. It comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a dedicated MicroSD card slot, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a MicroUSB port.

The device boots MIUI 13 (optimized version). The Android version is not known but it is most likely Android 13. Since the software is optimized for low-level hardware, it lacks some MIUI 13 features.

Last but not least, the Redmi 12C is backed by a 5,000mAh battery and it carries support for standard 10W charging.
