The 400V model uses a BYD LiFePO4 battery while the 800 V model uses a CATL Kirin battery.

The current rumor is silent on the Xiaomi EV’s electric motor. However, it has been previously rumored to have a 260kW motor. As per the rumors, it is also speculated that the EV will be unveiled this year and go into commercial production in 2024. Xiaomi has not made any official statement yet on the issue. Jiemian.com also speculated that Xiaomi is also developing a second EV. The EV is codenamed Le Mans and could be unveiled in 2025. The Le Mans is rumored to come with three electric motors and a similar architecture to the Modena.

Speculations have gone on overdrive after a camouflaged vehicle was spotted by several persons near a Xiaomi facility in China. The vehicle was seen parked near Xiaomi Science and Technology Park. It has been speculated that the car could be a prototype of the rumored Xiaomi EV. It is even reported that the prototypes were assembled in September last year. The price of the two Xiaomi debut EVs is allegedly between 260,000 yuan ($38,383) and 350,000 yuan ($51,670).
