Samsung has finally confirmed the date of its next Galaxy Unpacked event, through which it will announce the Galaxy S23 series. For the first time in three years, the South Korean tech giant will hold an offline launch event at 10 pm on Feb. 1 in San Francisco, USA.

The launch event will be livestreamed on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and the official YouTube channel. Leaked teasers of the Galaxy S23 series show that the company may focus on the camera capabilities of the S23.

Leaks about the Galaxy S23 series have shown that the S23 and S23 Plus may get the same 50-megapixel (main, with OIS), 12-megapixel (ultra-wide), and 10-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit that was available on the S22 and S22+. The Galaxy S23 Ultra, on the other hand, will be Samsung’s first phone to feature a 200-megapixel camera. It will be assisted by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 10-megapixel periscope zoom camera. Al three phones are likely to feature a new 12-megapixel selfie camera.

Leaked promo videos have suggested that low-light photography will be one of the major highlights of the S23 trio. Some other reports have claimed that Samsung’s partnership with leading social media brands will allow the S23 series to capture better shots through apps like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

The Galaxy S23 series is said to be powered by a custom-made version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. The rest of the specs of the S23 trio could be largely identical to the S22 series. Now that the brand has officially confirmed the launch date for its next Unpacked event, it appears that it will roll out more teasers for the S23 series in the coming days.
