AYANEO teased a concept for a handheld gaming console dubbed AYANEO Next 2 a few months ago. Now, the company has officially revealed some of the key features of the device ahead of the launch later this year.
It comes with some features that are not commonly found in other handheld gaming devices, including a larger 8-inch display and a dedicated graphics processor, among others.
The AYANEO Next 2 features an 8-inch IPS LCD display, but more information about the screen has not been revealed yet. Under the hood, the device is powered by the AMD 7000 series processor.
Arthur Zhang, CEO of AYANEO, has said that he cannot specify which chipset will be powering the device, but it is being speculated that the product will be powered by the yet unannounced AMD Ryzen 7040U processor with 15-28W power.
It has also been confirmed that the AYA NEO Next 2 will come with discrete graphics, but nothing more about this has been revealed by the company so far. As for the software, the device will be running the Windows operating system out-of-the-box, allowing users to run a wide range of games.
The teaser images shared by the company show that the handheld device features two analog sticks, a D-Pad, and action buttons on the front. There are also trackpads on each side of the screen and several additional controls, including shoulder triggers.
