Amazon has recently unveiled its new Air Cargo services in India. With this announcement, India has become the first country in Asia to get this service from Amazon. By launching its dedicated air cargo services in the country, the brand has unlocked a new milestone and this would further improve the shipping and e-commerce experience of the users in the country. The services are given the name of “Amazon Air” and will be very soon operational in the country.

Two Quikjet Cargo Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft with cargo capacity will be used by Amazon Air. Every day, each Amazon Aeroplane will fly over Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai while transporting thousands of parcels. Amazon Air will facilitate quicker product shipping from fulfilment centres to last-mile deliveries. The nation’s shipping and delivery times will undoubtedly increase as a result. Today in Hyderabad, senior Amazon executives joined the Telangana minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao in welcoming the new aircraft. He is responsible for municipal administration & urban development, industries & commerce, and information technology.

According to Sarah Rhoads, Vice President, of Amazon Global Air, “We’re excited to debut Amazon Air in India to ensure we can give our increasing customer base a great selection, cheap costs, and faster deliveries.” With this statement, Amazon reiterates its commitment to fund India’s logistical infrastructure, increase local employment, and develop innovative technologies to fuel our delivery network. The introduction of Amazon Air would help 1.1 million additional sellers in India, fostering expansion for related industries like shipping and packing.

After the United States and Europe, India is Amazon Air’s third largest market. It began operations in the US in 2016 and now has a network of over 110 aircraft serving 70 locations across the world.
