As per IDC, despite hefty sales and promotional events, various issues caused the decline of the smartphone market. There were a number of problems faced by the industry, with supply chain difficulties as China faced lockdowns due to the viral outbreak. Furthermore, customers also faced rising cost and inflation, while the overall economic conditions also worsened. Thus, shipments slowed down last year, especially in the final three months.
