Samsung recently introduced the Galaxy S23 series. The smartphones are up for pre-order in multiple markets across the world.

Usually, the company discontinues the last-gen Galaxy S lineup when a new generation debuts. But this time around, the firm has revealed that it will continue selling the baseline Galaxy S22.

During the Galaxy S23 launch conference, Samsung disclosed the new price of the Galaxy S22 in the US. The device now carries an official price tag of $699.99 instead of $799.99.

In other words, it is $100 cheaper than the newly announced Galaxy S23. On the other hand, the South Korean electronics giant has discontinued the Galaxy S22 Plus and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Although Samsung did not mention the reason behind this decision, we believe it is most likely to do with the delayed release of Galaxy S22 FE.

As of now, it is not known if the Galaxy S21 FE successor will ever make it to the market. Hence, the brand probably filling the price gap by keeping the vanilla Galaxy S22 in its portfolio.

Samsung is known to offer heavy discounts on its devices worldwide. Therefore, it is not surprising to learn that in addition to the price cut, the Galaxy S22 is already discounted in multiple markets, including India.

So will you opt for the slightly cheaper Galaxy S22 or the brand-new Galaxy S23? Do let us know in the comment section below.
