Huawei has been trying to keep up with smartphone technology with the launch of high-end devices, despite facing sanctions from the United States. The company is now gearing up to launch a new premium smartphone in the market.

According to the report from Taiwan Economic Times, Huawei is working on a new high-end foldable flagship smartphone and is expected to start mass production in March this year.

The report further adds that Huawei aims to ship around a million devices of the Mate X series this year, double the number of shipments in 2022, and plans to add more orders depending on the market response.

It is being claimed that the new Mate X series smartphone is as thick as Apple iPhone when the device is folded. As of now, not much is known about the phone’s design as well as specifications.

The Huawei Mate X series smartphones could get launched in the first half of this year or the beginning of the second quarter. The company is also expected to launch new Pocket series flip foldable smartphone models in the second half of this year.
